Sandwich Secondary School is a school in LaSalle, Ontario. It has about 1000 students, and teaches about half of the students in LaSalle. The other half attends St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Secondary School. It boasts one of the best track and field complexes in southwestern Ontario. The mascot of the school is a sabre toothed tiger. The current principal is Ms. Mary Edwards and the vice principal is Mr. Marv Crawford. Sandwich is part of the Greater Essex County District School Board or GECDSB. The school's name comes from the township that used to encompass the general area, called Sandwich, which in turn was named after the Earl of Sandwich.
