Sandton City

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sandton City is one of South Africa's most prestigious shopping centre. Spanning five levels with 144 000 m² of retail space, the centre is the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. It has a tower section that hosts office space, as well as the "Top 4" banks ABSA, First National Bank, Nedbank and Standard Bank. Attached to the centre via a pedestrian mall bridge is Nelson Mandela Square, a 16 000 m² development. This area houses a 6-metre bronze statue of Nelson Mandela, which was unveiled in March 2004.
