Sandale Mast

The Sandale Mast is the main radio transmitting station for the county of Cumbria, including the Lake District. It broadcasts regional variations of BBC1 and BBC2. Main television channels come from the nearby Caldbeck Mast. It is 153m high, and is situated on the Caldbeck Fells close to the B5299 and eight miles south of Wigton.
Until 1993, it broadcast Radio Solway, and now broadcasts Radio Scotland on the same frequency.
