San Pedro city is 170 km NW of Buenos Aires city, and 130 km SE of Rosario (Santa Fe Province). Its population is about 40,000. The city is on the Paraná River's west side and has touristic value due to its history and natural places. It is also home to one of the most important "Country Music Festival" in South America (in September each year). It is known for its delicious peaches, oranges, blueberries and sweet potatoes. Fishing on the Paraná is also a popular activity among tourists.

Because of the development of "APA", an early closed-circuit radio station, a number of well-known radio hosts come from San Pedro: Lalo Mir, César Mascetti, Estela Montes and Fernando Bravo.
