San Pablo, Peru, was the location of a leper colony. It was visited by Che Guevara, and his friend Alberto Granado, in 1951. Refer to the movie, Diarios de motocicleta, for information on their visit to the leprosia. Information can also be found in el Che's accounts of his travels, Diarios de motocicleta, on which the recent film is based.
