San Miguel District, Lima

San Miguel, is a district in western Lima, Peru. It is bordered by the districts of Bellavista and downtown Lima on the south; Pueblo Libre, Magdalena del Mar and downtown Lima on the east; the Pacific Ocean on the south; and the La Perla district on the south.

Its main roads, Avenida La Marina, Avenida Universitaria and Avenida Elmer Faucett are among the largest economical activity centres in the city. The intersection of the two first avenues has been chosen by private investors; the Plaza San Miguel mall and some hypermarkets and department stores are all located in this area.

The Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and the Parque de las Leyendas, Lima's main zoo, is located in this district.
