San Gorgonio Wilderness is the home of some great hiking, backpacking and several 10,000+ feet peaks, including the highest peak in Southern California - Mount San Gorgonio - 11,502 feet (3506 meters). The United States Congress designated the San Gorgonio Wilderness in 1964 and it now has a total of 94,664 acres. It is located in the San Bernardino mountains in Southern California and managed by San Bernardino National Forest
