[edit] Where my name comes from
I don't want to give my actual name away, but Sam Ann isn't far off, Sam is the nickname given to me by my close friends, but is also used by my English teachers since I shared the same name as another girl in my class. Ann is my middle name.
[edit] A little about me
My permanent home is in Surrey, but I'm studying Japanese an initio with Tourism and Leisure in Liverpool, and live in a residence. At home I live with my mother, brother, sister and Dalmatian. My parents aren't divorced, but my father works abroad and I only see him at weekends. I lived in Ireland when I was very young and France before moving to England in 1997. I hope to be a teacher or a writer in the future.
I came across Wikipedia by chance and occasionally corrected typos and expanded stubs, and only recently had the courage to create an account, I'm still learning, and I may realise mistakes after contributions, but I hope to do really well here.
[edit] What I hope to do
Expand the Spanish and French sections of Wikipedia by translating the English articles. My current plan is to expand the pages regarding Pérez-Reverte's Captain Alatriste series (plot, characters etc.) in English. I also hope to write a short article on the High Sheriff Youth Award.
[edit] Hobbies and Interests
I write like no tomorrow, I also like to draw and read. I enjoy playing videogames, but not too much, I tend to spend more time on the computer writing or browsing on the Internet. My favourite genres are action and commedy but I like the latter at a down-to-earth level, if it becomes a gimmick I lose interest.
Recently I've been working on comics, but I'm still scripting a series.
[edit] Extra-curricular awards
Aside from A levels, I received the Duke of Edinburgh award at Bronze and Silver level. I am working towards my gold, having completed the service and skill sections. My service segment also earned me an award from David Hypher, the High Sheriff of Surrey until March 2006, named the High Sheriff Youth Award.
