W.W. Samuell High School is a public secondary school (grades 9-12) in the Pleasant Grove area of Dallas, Texas (USA).

The school is a part of the Dallas Independent School District.

The mascot is the Spartan. The school colors are Blue and Gold.

The school serves portions of southeast Dallas and a portion of the city of Balch Springs.

Its main high School rivals are Skyline High School and H. Grady Spruce High School.

Dallas ISD annexed Pleasant Grove ISD in 1955, and Pleasant Grove High School was replaced by Samuell High School on the same year.

The Alma Matter is "Hail Samuell High, Hail Samuell High", written in (1955), by then school music teacher. The school has only won one athletic state title. The 1965 Spartan Baseball Team won the title while competing in Class AAAA.

Dr. W.W. Samuell was a wealthy individual who before his death donated millions of dollars to the City of Dallas Parks and Recreation Dept.. There are now over 5 Samuell Parks in the Dallas area, including a high school, a boulevard, and two streets in bordering cities. Dr. W. W. Samuell purchased the first ambulance for the City of Dallas in 1911.

Samuell High School, as of 2006, has school uniforms.

Uniforms consist of white or yellow tops and khaki, blue, or black bottoms [1].

Elementary schools [2] that feed into Samuell include John Quincy Adams, Annie Webb Blanton, Gilbert Cuellar, Nathaniel Hawthorne, John Ireland, Pleasant Grove, John W. Runyon, San Jacinto, C.A. Tatum, and Edward Titche. All are K-6.

Fred F. Florence Middle School and John B. Hood Middle School feed into Samuell.

  • Joe Dixon Defensive back on Texas' 1963 national championship team.
  • Dan Seals Country and Pop Musician also known as England Dan.
  • John Ford Coley Partner in musical duo with Dan Seals; hits include "I'd Really Love To See You Tonight".
  • Ron Jones 1969 NFL tight end for the Green Bay Packers.
  • Joe Kendall Former federal judge (1992-2002).
  • Mark Reeves famous "Dapper Bandit", robbed banks in the North Texas area from 1978-1988.
  • Steve Ramsey Punter/Quarterback 1970 New Orleans Saints (1970), Denver Broncos (1971-76).
  • Jerry Reynolds Owner of Prestige Ford car dealerships in the Southwest.
  • Lulu Roman Former "Hee Haw" TV show personality.
  • Russ Martin, from The Russ Martin Show in Dallas.
  • Chris Warren Professional bowler.

  • Made for TV Movie Right To Kill, was filmed at Samuell High in 1985 and aired nationally on 21 May 1985 on ABC.
  • First school in the Dallas area to house exchange students from all over the globe from 1966 to 2004.
