Samuel D. Riddle

Samuel Doyle Riddle (July 1, 1861 - January 8, 1951) was an American textile manufacturer and thoroughbred race horse owner.

He was born in Glen Riddle, Pennsylvania, a small town southwest of Philadelphia given the family name in honor of his grandfather.

Sam Riddle was a thoroughbred horse racing enthusiast who owned Faraway Farm, a breeding operation in Lexington, Kentucky, and Glen Riddle Farm in Berlin, Maryland whose stable of horses included Man O' War and War Admiral.
