Samson (song)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Samson was the Belgian entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1981, performed in Dutch by Emly Starr.
The song was performed sixteenth on the night (following Portugal's Carlos Paião with Play-Back and preceding Greece's Yiannis Dimitras with Fegari Kalokerino). At the close of voting, it had received 40 points, placing 13th in a field of 20.
The song is inspired by the Biblical story of Samson, with Starr singing that the object of her desires is like Samson in that he is not interested in love. She suggests that he should "find yourself a Delilah".
It was succeeded as Belgian representative at the 1982 Contest by Stella performing Si Tu Aimes Ma Musique.
