Samantha Lee Winward (born 12 October 1985, Bolton, Lancashire, England) is an actress, singer and model who attended Bolton's Turton High School in Bromley Cross. She is best known for playing Katie Sugden on the soap opera Emmerdale.
Winward was engaged to footballer David Dunn, and gave birth to her first child, Mia, at home in Bolton on 12 June 2005. Sammy and David later split up in September 2005, but remain friends. Sammy now lives at home with her parents who are helping her with baby Mia.
She also appeared in the ITV celebrity talent show Soapstar Superstar.
In 2006 she appeared on the Orange Playlist. Here she explained that she was training to be a ballerina before being picked by her agent Ruth Young to attend the Emmerdale audition.
Winward was voted number 73 in FHM's 2006 100 Sexiest Women in the World poll.
