Sammy's Independence Day is an episode of the U.S. television sitcom Yes, Dear.

Greg yells at Jimmy for sitting on the counter. Kim comes in and asks where the sandwich is that she made and when Jimmy turns around it is stuck to his butt. At the park, Greg and Kim are walking Sam though the playground. Greg gets stuck in the crawl tube. Jimmy and Christine tell Greg and Kim that they shouldn’t hold Sam’s hand all the time. They tell them that Kim goes to the bathroom with Sam to help him hold his thing.

At Sam’s preschool, Sam is drawing a picture and Kim’s starts to draw it for him. The teacher tells Kim that Sam should do it on his own. Kim continues to help him. Greg imagines that Sam is on a date and him and Kim are sitting next to Sam showing him the proper way to kiss. Greg grabs the picture away from Kim and yells at her. At a restaurant, Kim is cutting up Sam’s food. Kim refuses to talk to Greg for embarrassing her. Greg tells Kim that Jimmy and Christine are right. Greg tells Kim to stop babying Sam. When she starts singing to Sam, Greg moves to a different table.

At the park, Greg sends Sam to play on his own. Sam falls and hits his head. Kim comes home and yells at Greg for letting Sam play alone. Kim is putting a straw in Sam’s juice box and opening his yogurt. Logan comes in and washes his hands, gets a juice box, and his yogurt on his own. Kim is shocked that Logan does things for himself.

The Warner’s go out to eat. Kim tells Greg that they should let Sam do things on his own. They decide to let Sam get his own napkin. He does fine on his own. Greg notices that he needs a straw and gets up to get him one and slips on a pack of ketchup. Greg sees a spider and wants Kim to kill it, but she tells him to do it on his own. He tries to kill the spider, but it crawls up his arm.
