Sami Khella is an artist - painter and printmaker. He was born in Cairo, Egypt and emigrated to the United States. His art education has included the graduate program of fine arts at the University of Pennsylvania, but mostly he is self-taught.
His work is primarily figurative. It is colorful and often large. The tension in the work reflects the interaction of the viewer viewing the figure and the figure looking back at the viewer.
In the tradition of both western and eastern art, the line, in his work, produces the rhythm and poetry of the image. As sample of his paintings and prints can be seen at [1].
In addition to making oil paintings he also makes prints. Printmaking is a technique of several originals of the same image.
His work is represented in many private and corporate collections and he has won a variety of awards.
In his other life, Sami Khella is a neurologist at Penn Presbyterian of the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
