Sam Rolfe

Screenwriter Sam Rolfe (1924 - 1993) scored an Oscar nomination with his very first screenplay, to the classic Anthony Mann Western "The Naked Spur" in 1953. Most of Rolfe's subsequent career was spent in television, where he was part of the writing staff on such popular series as "Have Gun - Will Travel" and "The Man from UNCLE". He died of a heart attack in 1993.
