Sam Nixon was (born 21 March 1986) and came third on the Pop Idol television series in 2003. He was a catering student from Barnsley College in South Yorkshire, England. He attended Holgate School, Barnsley from 1997 to 2002, where he formed a band Fareview with friends.
Nixon and fellow Pop Idol finalist Mark Rhodes had a #1 hit in the United Kingdom with their cover of With a Little Help from My Friends, originally performed by The Beatles. Their second single 'The Sun Has Come Your Way' debuted in the UK top 40 at #19, however they were dropped from their record deal after this release.
Nixon began a television presenting career, co-hosting Top of the Pops Reloaded, before forming a presentational double-act on the BAFTA winning CBBC show Level Up, with Mark Rhodes, which started on the 3rd April, 2006 (and ended on 1st September, 2006). Their new children's Saturday morning show, TMi, started on BBC Two on September 16.
