Sam Narron (catcher)

Samuel Woody "Sam" Narron (August 25, 1913 in Middlesex, North Carolina - December 31, 1996 in Raleigh, North Carolina) was a former Major League Baseball player and coach.
Narron was a catcher for three seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1935, 1941 and 1942. He then went on to be a coach for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1952-1964. He was inducted in the Kinston Professional Baseball Hall of Fame in 1988. He was the uncle of major league catcher Jerry Narron [1]
