Swat River From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search Swat River flows from Karakorum Mountains to flows into Kabul River in Swat, Sarhad, Pakistan. Swat river flows through Kalam valley and merges with Kabul River. Swat river irrigates vast area of Swat District. The Swat river has fishing industry. Saidu Group's of teaching hospitalis also located at the banks of Swat river. Malamjaba ski resort is about 10 miles away from the river. Ayub Bridge is one of the attraction for the visitors.The scenery is attracts many tourists from all over Pakistan during the summer. it is said that Alexandar crossed the swat river with part of his army and before turning south subdued the locals at what are now barikoot and odegram. the river swat is a clear water river starting from the Ushu rage of mountains to the spread of the valley of swat. it is one of the most green valley of nothern pakistan and is well conected to the rest of pakistan. it is the duty of government of #REDIRECT pakistan to protect the River swat from pollution,encroachment and illegal fishing practice. River swat is the only drainage basin of all the valley swat.Most of the solid and liquid waste(refuse of hospitals ,commercial centres,,auto mobile workshops and agricultral run-off)are continuesly contaminating the water bodies that ultimately make their way,directly or indirectly, in to River swat. some 30 years ago,the water was fit for drinking even in Mingora,100 KM down stream from kalam,but now it is not safe even in Kalam.
