Salwick railway station is situated on the Preston to Blackpool railway line and managed by Northern Rail. The station is between Preston and Kirkham & Wesham.
Salwick is served by two trains a day, but is not a formal request stop; trains are timetabled to stop there. It is used by very few passengers (1,858 in 2004-5), but is an unofficial commuter service for the workers at the nearby Springfields BNFL complex.
The station, and the nearby village of Clifton, are right up against the border of Preston and Fylde.
