Saltpeter

The term saltpeter or saltpetre may refer to:
- The chemical saltpeter or saltpetre, referring to potassium nitrate (niter/nitre); and/or sodium nitrate (nitratine/soda niter);
- The stellar astronomer Edwin Ernest Salpeter proposed the triple-alpha process for burning helium, and an initial mass function for stellar populations.
