Salomon Group

The Salomon Group (also just known as "Salomon") is a sportswear manufacturing company that originated in Annecy, France. The company was started in 1947 by François Salomon, and his wife and child. In 1997 it became part of the adidas group. On 2 May 2005, adidas-Salomon announced that they had agreed to sell Salomon Group for 485 mn Euros to Amer Sports of Finland. The transaction was completed on October 20, 2005.

However, in 2006 Salomon ceased to continue their aggressive skates, and made their team redundant, leaving the Rollerblade industry and community to feel betrayed by one of their foremost companies, to "save a dollar"

Salomon is a popular producer of skis, ski boots and ski bindngs. The company is probably best known for its boots, which mix performance and comfort very successfully. Salomon's X Wave series has been very successful in recent years.
