The Type 61 Salisbury class were a class of British aircraft direction (or radar picket)frigates built for the Royal Navy. They were a follow on from the Type 41 Leopard class frigates but with reduced armament to make way for more aircraft direction equipment. As single-role vessels they were replaced by the more adaptable Leander-class. HMS Llandaff was sold to the Bangladesh Navy in 1976 as the Umar Farooq, and is currently in reserve.

Three planned vessels, HMS Coventry, Exeter and Gloucester were cancelled and re-ordered as Leanders.
