Saleem Rasheed (born on June 15, 1981 in Birmingham, Alabama) currently plays linebacker for the Houston Texans of the National Football League. He plays the linebacker position. He went to the University of Alabama. He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the 3rd round (69th overall) in the 2002 NFL Draft.
Rasheed is an excellent all-around athlete who hustles and can disengage from big blockers. He changes direction well and can be effective in coverage or on the blitz. He is versatile, with a feel for the game. He will over-pursue on many plays and take poor angles to the ball and will get blown off the ball at times. He has had a lot of problems with injuries.
