Sale Water Park

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sale Water Park is an area of countryside and parkland surrounding an artificial 45-acre lake in Greater Manchester. It lies in the green belt through the Mersey river valley between Sale and Stretford, between the river and the M60 motorway. The lake was formed when material was excavated to build an embankment for the motorway as it ran alongside the river. There is a water sports centre by the lake, providing facilities for watersports such as water-skiing and windsurfing. It once used to be a gravel pit before the M60 was created.
