Salawa

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Salawa or Salaawa (species from Canis genus or Lycaon genus or other new genus) is the name given to an otherwise mysterious and unrecognized canine creature by the local population of a region of modern day southern Egypt, that they claimed to have caught and killed, in 1996. The animal was one of a pack, which had been attacking livestock, and had gathered a reputation for attacking people for food.

It was said to have square ears and a forked tail, which also describes the otherwise unknown and mysterious Set animal, which Set was usually depicted as. It has been hypothesised that the animal is part of the Canidae family which includes the African Hunting Dog, Lycaon pictus. It is regarded as a cryptid, and as such might not exist at all.
