[edit] Summary

This is a Fair Use of an excerpt from April 30, 1942 Li'l Abner strip. Although this is still under copyright, inclusion here qualifies for Fair Use under US Copyright law because:

  • It is used for a non-commercial and hopefully educational purpose.
  • It is representative of the topic since it shows in only 2 panels the relationship of Salome with the Yokums.
  • It is only a small part of the overall work, i.e. 50% of a single day's installment or perhaps 1/20,000 all panels.
  • It should not affect the commercial viability of the copyright (IMHO it should enhance it).

  • where no free alternative exists or can be created,
  • on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation,

To the uploader: please add a detailed fair use rationale for each use, as described on Wikipedia:Image description page, as well as the source of the work and copyright information.
