Sakyo (左京区 Sakyō-ku?) is one of the eleven wards in the city of Kyoto, in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. Located in the center of the present-day city of Kyoto, it previously occupied the northern region of the ancient capital of Kyoto. The Kamo River flows on the western border of this ward. To the east lies the Daimonji mountain (大文字山)which plays a major role in the local celebration of the Bon Festival.

There is a train called Eizan-train. Most local people think that this train's costs more than any other in Japan. Eizan-train runs between Demachiyanagi and Kurama. Some of these trains are called Kirara. They are special sightseeing trains. In sakyo-ku there is Kyoto International Conference Hall.This establishment is one of the most famous place in the world because Kyoto protocol of was adopted here in November 27, 2004. There are some special restaurantes in the north of sakyo-ku. For exzample in Kibune there is a resutaurante people can eat food and feel special atmosphere becouse a river fioes very near about one or three meter. In the south of sakyo-ku there is Shimogomo temple. This is one of the most oldest temple in Kyoto.In kita-ku there is Kamigamo temple. These tow temples is relating historical.
