[edit] Name origin

It has been rumoured that the band acquired their name from the slashing method of a Japanese serial killer.[citation needed]

The band is also known to have come up with numerous explanations for their name, among them; the name of an old Japanese children's toy, the name of Thee's father's colleague, a book/movie title, a haircut style, a random word Thee came up with, the result of the band members fooling around with an Ouija Board (This has been discredited by a band member recently).

[edit] Discography

The band has released two albums, along with numerous compilations, most notably the best selling [[JKT:SKRG (Jakarta Now!)]] compilation, and had a major radio hit when their single "Less Afraid" appeared on Joni's Promise, in which the song could be heard almost in it's entirety two times during the movie.

[edit] Apologia (2002)

Sajama Cut released their first indie album Apologia (2002) to unanimous praise from the indie community and media. Earning a perfect point in the influential independent magazine Deathrockstar, as well as gathering praise from youth magazines such as Ripple, and Hai. This album was mostly done by Thee and former members of the band, making it more of a solo-oriented album than a complete band product.

[edit] The Osaka Journals (2005)

The band release their second album, the semi-concept LP The Osaka Journals in 2005, with distribution help from the major label Universal Music Indonesia. With their name now more widely known amongst the music community, the band released 6 singles (and 6 videos) for "Fallen Japanese", "Alibi", "Idol Semen", "Fin", "Take care Inamorata", and "It was Kyoto where I Died".

[edit] The Infamous Article

The album The Osaka Journals received an even larger critical acclaim in the media. With The Jakarta Post giving it a great review[1].

[edit] The New Album and Future Plans

A third album is currently being written. Thee has said that it will be "a mix between Michael Jackson's Thriller, and The Pixies' Surfer Rosa". Pre-production is currently underway, and the band has promised a release date of early 2007. Some early song titles released on the band's website are "Hitchcock", "Ecstacy", "Criminals", "Strangers", and "Vienna with Whiskey and Pills".

The band will also contribute 4 songs to the major motion picture "Foto, Kotak, Jendela". The songs confirmed are "O Lonesome Road", "Remains from the Fire", "Remains from an Empty Room", and "Forever".

The band's myspace states that a remix album version of the songs from The Osaka Journals by international remixers and producers from Japan, America, Britain, Indonesia, and more are also planned. It is also reported that the band are currently recording new materials[2]
