Saint Ursicinus

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Saint Ursicinus is the name of a number of Catholic saints, none of which enjoys wide veneration:

  • St. Ursicinus of Ravenna, martyr
  • St. Ursicinus of Brescia
  • St. Ursicinus (d. 760), one of the four canonised bishops of Chur
  • St. Ursicinus (356-87), a bishop of Sens in northern France, exiled to Phrygia under Constantius II through the influence of the Arians, visited by St. Hilary on his return to Sens after three years of exile, and who about 386 founded at Sens the monastery of Sts. Gervasius and Protasius
  • St. Ursicinus (569-609) suffered much from the depredations of the French in Turin; at that time the Diocese of Moriana (modern Maurienne) was detached from that of Turin.
