Saint Petersburg Great Choral Synagogue

The Saint Petersburg Great Choral Synagogue is a synagogue in Saint Petersburg, Russia. It is the second largest synagogue in Europe. It was built in 1893 with permission of tsar Alexander II from 1869.
Architects were I. Shaposhnikov and L. Bahman. Most distinct features of the synagogue are white dome and orange-brown facade.
The synagogue was vastly renovated in 2000-2003 at the cost of about 5 millions U.S. dollars.
