[edit] History
Saint Mary's was originally founded by the Sisters of Mercy, a sisterhood based in Ireland. After coming across the Atlantic in 1843 to Pittsburgh, their second spot for a Motherhouse was Bordentown, New Jersey, in 1873. They had a church and school build in Hilltop, New Jersey, but soon outgrew both. They moved back to Bordentown, where they built a new church and school. These two stayed in use, and have been used since.
