List of stations of the Paris Métro |
Saint-Augustin is a station of the Paris Metro, named after the Place Saint-Augustin and the Saint-Augustin church.
Since extension of the Line 14 to Saint-Lazare in 2004, it is connected to Saint-Lazare metro station the subway station Saint-Lazare (which is near to Saint-Lazare railway station) by an underground passageway. This allows interchange with the lines line 3, line 12, line 13 and line 14 (only this last connection is useful under normal operating conditions and it is the only one indicated on RATP maps).
[edit] Places of interest
The current Saint-Augustin church, built in 1868 by Baltard, replaced an old chapel which was also dedicated to St Augustine (354-430). Augustine remains a central figure, both within Christianity and in the history of Western thought.
