Saima Mohsin

Saima Mohsin (born 1977) joined the GMTV team as a news reporter/reader and producer in April 2006.

Saima attended the University of Birmingham and in 1998 gained a BA Hons degree in Politics with English Literature, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism in 1999.

After graduating from university, Saima freelanced for a year at BBC World Service, Greater Manchester Radio, GLR and Five Live. In 2000 Saima joined ITV Meridian as a producer and later on became a presenter/reporter for the station.

In 2002 Saima joined BBC Points West as a reporter and presenter and in 2004 moved to the BBC One programme, Watchdog as an investigative reporter. She left Watchdog in April 2005 to freelance, working for Sky News and Five. In August she hosted the ground breaking debate show – Shariah TV on Channel 4, which tackled the issues of suicide bombings and the position of Muslims in Britain. She then moved to ITV to present the Morning News and The World Today programme for BBC radio.

In March 2006 Saima was nominated in the Media Professional of the Year category at the Asian Woman of Achievement Awards.

Saima enjoys singing, dancing and travelling in her spare time. She also speaks Punjabi, Urdu, Hindi and French and is currently learning Spanish and Arabic.

Saima is 29 years old and currently lives in London.
