The Sailor Warriors Die! The Tragic Final Battle is the 45th episode of Sailor Moon.

Having learned that the enemy hideout was in the North Pole, the girls met at Hikawa Shrine to teleport there. Luna and Artemis, having been injured from the previous fight stay behind. In the meantime, Queen Beryl summons her five best youma to destroy the Sailor Soldiers before they can infiltrate their lair. At the North Pole, Usagi begins to have visions of Tuxedo Kamen trapped by the enemy, which turns out to be an illusion created by the yoma. In the middle of all this, Jupiter gets captured and killed while using her massive power on one of the monsters. Sailor Moon begins to doubt the mission and tries to bargain with the crystal but is stopped by Sailor Mercury, but yet another illusion takes them, this time, Sailor Mercury is taken into a ball of fire. With her last ounce of strength, she destroys the source of the illusions and dies. While Sailor Moon cries for her lost friends, Sailor Venus notices a trap and gets her out in time but gets captured herself. By using her Crescent Beam at point blank range, she manages to kill two youmas but also dies in the process, impaled on an iceberg. Sailor Mars asks Sailor Moon to be strong and goes to fight off the two remaining youma, who overtake her and all three die in an explosion created by Mars’ fire. Finally, Sailor Moon is left alone, but the spirits of her four friends come to encourage her to go on.
