Usagi is walking to school, late as usual, when she bumps into some shady characters. Luckily for her, a girl beats them up and rescues her. Much to Usagi’s surprise, the girl is a new student at her school with a bad reputation. Despite many warnings, she befriends Makoto and the two decide to go to the arcade where they meet a boy who seems to be exceptionally good at the crane game. Makoto instantly falls for him and decides to follow him. In the meantime, Zoisite has been given a new mission. Queen Beryl tells him of the 7 yomas trapped in the 7 shards of the silver crystal known as the rainbow crystals. He must find the humans who possess them and retrieve them at all costs. It so happens that the first target is Makoto’s love interest. Zoisite appears and attacks the boy, retrieving the first rainbow crystal and turning him into a yoma. Luna gives Makoto a transformation pen and she becomes Sailor Jupiter. Luna also gives Sailor Moon a new weapon called the Moon Stick and with it, she is able to turn the yoma back into a human. They both welcome Sailor Jupiter onto the team.
