Usagi and Naru are swimming in a pool when Usagi asks Naru why she seems so distracted and Naru tells her that she has a crush on the tennis instructor who is actually Nephrite. Usagi knows this and tries to warn Naru, but she just won’t listen. Having told the girls and Luna, Usagi is charged with confronting and telling Naru the whole truth about Nephrite. She marches to her house, tells her everything but doesn’t stick around to discuss it. Meanwhile, upon pressure from Queen Beryl, Nephrite continues his search for the silver crystal and creates a detection device called the black crystal, which will enable him to pinpoint the location of the missing artifact. The black crystal shows him a vision of Naru and he wonders if she is the key to finding it. He calls her and feeds her a lie about being in trouble with some very bad people and that the only thing that can help him is the silver crystal, which Naru mistakes for a special jewel her mother ordered for the store. She steals it and runs to give it to Nephrite, but Sailor Moon and the girls show up. At the same time, Zoisite has sent one of her yomas to fight both parties. Sailor Moon defeats it and tries to kill Nephrite with her tiara, but Naru prevents it. In the end, the jewel was worthless and Nephrite returns it to Naru.
