Sail Away is a 1972 album by Randy Newman. In 2003, the album was ranked number 321 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
The album stands as a prime example of Newman's ability with musical satire. The title track takes the form of an inviting—and moving—pitch from a slave trader in Africa. "Political Science" foresees America making the world a better place through the nuclear annihilation of almost everyone else. "God's Song"—and to a lesser extent, "He Gives Us All His Love"—use gospel forms to question the idea of a benevolent Creator.
