The Cross of St Alban, Azure, a saltire Or, i.e. gold (yellow) saltire on a blue field, is the traditional Christian flag of the Kingdom of Mercia, and is still flown from Tamworth Castle, the ancient seat of the Mercian kings. It is also found as part of the coats of arms of Tamworth and St Albans.
