WP:Cricket
Hi
Just wondered whether you'd be interested in signing up on Wikipedia:WikiProject Cricket. It's a forum where cricket-loving WPians can chat about what they are doing, ask for advice, show off the articles they've written, and what have you. You'd be more than welcome. Kind regards, jguk 15:41, 23 October 2005 (UTC)
WikiProject A-League
Hi Sahafan, I noticed you've contributed to pages related to the A-League competition - I started a WikiProject for it, and thought you might be interested in participating. Thanks! AlbinoMonkey (Talk) 05:46, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
WikiProject Rugby
Hi and welcome to WikiProject Rugby. I was planning to invite people soon to get the project under way but I'm glad that you have already joined. The first thing that needs to be done is to invite more people. A good way is to look at "history" page of famous rugby teams and players and invite people who have made many edits and contributions. Again welcome to the project! DaGizza Chat (c) 01:30, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
Rugby league project
I noticed you added yourself to the focus on league section. I've had a project running for quite a while, but i was going to wait until we had 5 or so members to start a project. If you are dedicated to "Rugby league", then this is a project for you. See the Project page. POds 11:44, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Beach Boys.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Beach Boys.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an arguement why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. No Guru 17:20, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Carlin_Itonga.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Carlin_Itonga.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Wouldn't It Be Nice edits
Hi Sahafan,
The comments I made refer to this user - User:58.105.95.193. Even if you did edit some articles from this address, its ok - the comments I made don't refer to you. Someone else from the same network address (which could mean anywhere from the same household as you, to any customer of the same ISP as you) performed some vandalism - which basically means intentionally incorrect or uncivil edits to articles - on an un-related article. I checked for other edits made from that address, which showed me the changes to Wouldn't It Be Nice. Now, I don't know anything at all the Beach Boys, so I didn't know about the accuracy of the changes made - which is why I posted a request on the talk page - so that someone who did, could check the changes you made.
When you edit under a username, problems like these won't happen - as people can't share the same username - but they can share the same network address!
I hope I haven't caused you too much worry or confusion - enjoy being a Wiki-editor :) -- Chuq 08:17, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
Nice one!
As a Beach Boys fan, I'm impressed with the number of blue links I now see in the List of Beach Boys songs article. I hope very soon I can help you in getting these up to full article quality. Thank you! Bobo. 21:55, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
Thank You from the CVU
On behalf of the Counter Vandalism Unit, I would like to thank you for your valuable contributions to Wikipedia. As a New Articles Patroller, I read through a long list of recently created articles and am apalled by the worthless content I find and have to delete or edit. It is a relief to see your important, thoughtful contributions that have greatly added to the value of the encyclopedia as a musical reference. I would like to, therefore, award you this barnstar of high culture to thank you for your work.

Hi, I see where I misunderstood the information now, doh! I've tweaked it a bit by adding "for both songs" after the time to make things clearer. I think it helps :) —porges(talk) 11:21, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

WP A-League player project
WP A-League players 10% complete |
Hi Sahafan!
I just wanted to let you know about the big WikiProject A-League 2005–06 player project. It is an attempt to bring the articles on every player who played in the A-League in 2005–06 up to standard. Check out the main page for the player project to get the full list of players as well as useful links and stats to help out. Hopefully we can get the full list done before the beginning of the 2006–07 season. Don't forget to update the counts (they will automatically update the status bar) as you go. Thanks! License tagging for Image:Good Vibrations single.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Good Vibrations single.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 11:06, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Rock and Roll Music
I don't think we need to create separate articles. We just need to add more detail about Chuck Berry's version and make that the lead section, followed by the Beach Boys information. One example of a song article that covers more than one notable version is Shake Rattle and Roll. 23skidoo 17:14, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
List of songs by The Beach Boys
Good continuing work on this one. All the article needs now is some inventive rowspan and colspan hypertechnologies to eliminate empty rows. Kudos. Bobo. 06:02, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
Sahafan said: Hi I was wondering what you meant by "All the article needs now is some inventive rowspan and colspan hypertechnologies to eliminate empty rows". Thanks
All it needs is for the rows and columns to be lined up in the correct manner as per the columns on the table and the songs in the list. Some of the columns are matched up wrongly to the sections, but this is workable. We can make the same song line up with four different columns, while using just one cell, if it's on four different albums, for example. Bobo. 19:21, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
Song stubs
Please do stop making them. Unless a song is notable, we really shouldn't have an article on it. - brenneman {L} 08:22, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Beach Boys songs vocals.
Hi, I'm assuming that you credited Dennis Wilson for the lead on Surfer Girl on Good Timin', which is the CD of the Knebworth concert, if I recall correctly? I only have the DVD, and the lead on Surfer Girl, including that gruff middle-8 is actually Brian, not Dennis. Denny did sing the lead at least once, in Michigan in 1966, but since that wasn't recorded I didn't include it. I didn't want to be rude and just change it without consulting you.;-)
Thanks!

Fair use rationale for Image:Rugby league ball.jpg
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Rugby league ball.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Alexj2002 12:46, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
Expansion of WP:A-League
Hi Sahafan,
Just thought I'd let you know there is currently a proposal to expand WikiProject A-League to include all areas of football/soccer in Australia, including the NSL, A-League, Socceroos, state leagues and more. A more formal proposal page can be found here. Please indicate whether you support the idea or not at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject A-League, and also add your 2c about what the new project should be called. Cheers! – AlbinoMonkey (Talk) 04:10, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
Image:Rikki Sheriffe.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Rikki Sheriffe.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Chowbok ☠ 00:06, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Image:Eric Djemba-Djemba.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Eric Djemba-Djemba.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
Thank you. Quentin X 21:43, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
