Sadistik Exekution
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sadistik Exekution was an Australian death/black metal band. The idea for the band was formed after bass player Dave Slave met vocalist Rok outside an Iron Maiden concert in Sydney in 1986. With drummer Sloth and Melbourne artist and musician Rev. Kriss Hades on guitar, the band began rehearsals and produced an early demo that was followed in 1991 by the first album The Magus. This album featured ex-Slaughter Lord guitarist Sandy Vahdanni in place of Hades who was, for a variety of reasons no one from the band has ever properly explained, not present for the recording.
Since then Sadistik Exekution has attained cult status within Australia and abroad, and they are notorious both for their extreme death metal style, which has been compared to the sound of crashing trains, and for outrageous and often violent antics on stage. In 1994 the band obtained a record deal with French label Osmose Productions, and released their second album We Are Death... Fukk You. Two years later, in 1996, they toured Europe with Absu and Impaled Nazarene with Matt Skitz from Melbourne grind band Damaged replacing Sloth, who subsequently rejoined after the band returned to Australia. This tour exposed them to a much bigger fanbase and marked the peak of their career.
Three additional albums have been released since We are Death... Fukk You, all of which maintain the band's simplistic, repetitive and violent style. Sadistik Exekution has not played live since early 1999 and all members maintain that the band has now ended.
Dave Slave has since released several recordings under various names including Digital Fiction and Doomed And Disgusting. Rok released solo albums in 1999 and 2000. Kriss Hades has also established a solo career, with an album entitled The Winds of Orion (2002) and subsequent live appearances. Sloth joined a western Sydney thrash band called Inslain in 2003.
