Rob Van Dam (Robert Alexander Szatkowski) and Sabu (Terry Michael Brunk) met in December 1989 when sabu's uncle the Original Sheik was training them.They soon started to tour the world together in Japan, Germany and all over the states. It was Sabu who told ECW oner Paul Heyman about Van Dam and in 1996 Heyman gave Van Dam a job in ECW.

it's been said that rob van dam's marrige to sonya is a cover up. thats why they don't have any kids. and people have also said that he is gay!
