[edit] New articles (not related to education or schools)
Articles I've written, or articles to which I've somehow contributed significantly:
Article |
Date |
Notes |
Blue Hawk Mine |
October 10, 2005 |
My first article. Needs some re-work now that I know more about Wikipedia and how things should be written. |
IBM Open Class |
January 13, 2006 |
Computer language stub. Actually would be nice if we had a "computer libraries" section, since it isn't really a language. |
Intelligent Medical Imaging, Inc |
January 25, 2006 |
I have some of their Chapter 11 paperwork here at the house, I need to look through it all and see how the article could be updated. |
William R. Bennett Bridge |
February 8, 2006 |
An on-going article on the new Okanagan Lake bridge under construction. |
Matte Babel and Leah Miller |
April 10, 2006 |
I don't even know who they are! I didn't write these articles, I simply came across them during one of my numerous evenings of patrolling for vandalism and have "adopted" them to protect against vandlism. It is *crazy* to look through the history and see how much vandalism such simple stubs can receive. |
Mount Boucherie |
May 14, 2006 |
Spent quite a lot of time at the library researching the content for this article. |
[edit] Disambiguation pages to make things a bit easier to find
I re-wrote the WP:EiC project in mid 2006, and my focus is usually on articles related to this wikiproject. As part of EiC, I've written, re-written, or modified hundreds of school-related articles. I no longer track all of the articles I've touched, but instead will list some of the ones I use as reference when working on new articles:
Article |
Notes |
Conseil scolaire francophone de la Colombie-Britannique |
Example of BC school board (BC-specific school district template). |
|
All examples of ON school board which uses the generic Canadian school district template. |
Toronto District School Board |
I re-wrote this to bring it up to WP:EiC standards, but 1 problem remains -- what do we do with the 500+ schools that are in this district? |
Peel District School Board |
Again, this one was brought up to standards, and I tried one possible solution to dealing with school boards that has hundreds of schools. However, this is borderline unmaintainable. I still think navbars with individual articles will work out better. |
Delhi Public School (Ontario) |
Infobox stub that shows it is possible to use references within the infobox. All of my infobox stubs from that point on uses the style I first tried out with this article. |

- How to show templates outside of <pre> blocks: <nowiki>{{Infobox Education in Canada}}</nowiki>
- ...or, better yet: {{Tl|Infobox Education in Canada}}
- How to link to a category without becoming part of the category: [[:Category:Canadian school stubs]]
- How to show up at the very top of a category: [[Category:High schools in Ontario|*]]
- Wikipedia:Shortcuts
- WP:AIAV (ask an administrator to block a user/IP due to repeated vandalism even after warnings)
- WP:CTT (templates to cite sources)
- WP:FN (footnotes)
- WP:OWN (ownership of articles)
