[edit] Suggested merge

This article seems to cover what is also covered in Nokia S60. Seems to make sense to keep this in one place. Vegaswikian 20:13, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

  • A valid suggestion, but then you should check the number of times this information has been removed from the Nokia S60 page (which implies that it shouldn't really be there). Finding out which versions of S60 software are compatible with which phone is a nightmare and removing information like this just makes life harder for the rest of us. Merge this if you will, but someone will erase it again!!!
    • Keeping multiple articles with the same i

nformation is not correct either. The information should be in a logical place. Nothing about any merge would delete information, just move it to a single location. The fact that some editors may be acting badly is not a reason to drive other bad decisions. Vegaswikian 16:28, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

      • This information (the full list of Nokia S60/Symbian OS version numbers) is in no other article — this article exists because several editors have already felt it inappropriate for the Nokia S60 page.
      • I think it should be merged, but without losing any info. All information should be retained and reorganized logically, there could be a history section with all compatible devices listed accordingly, as long as, its well laid out and simlple, I don't see how it could confuse anyone.--RadicalSatDude 09:28, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
  • Symbian OS is an operating system that is used by three platforms: S60, UIQ and FOMA. So I think that the S60 article should not be merged with the Symbian OS article.--Mike Juan Lee 10:29, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
    • Mike is correct there are differences in the Operating Systems and Nokia, Sony Ericsson both use the Symbian Operating Systems. Soit is not a good idea to merge the two articles. Prasan Naik 6:00am 15 december 2006 (EST)

[edit] Change names?

Perhaps if we don't merge any of the above articles some of them need their names changed, clearly disambiguating them? Mathiastck 21:48, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
