S. Karivardhan

S. Karivardhan, or "KARI" as he was affectionately called, was a racing driver, tuner, and constructor. He was from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu state of India.

He was a successful racecar constructor and racer in Sholavaram (Chennai) and other Indian Racetracks during 70's, 80's and 90's. His design and construction of FISSME or Formula Maruti for budding Indian motorsport hopefuls paid out with results like Narain Karthikeyan, Armaan Ebrahim, Karun Chandok. His own company, P&B engineering constructed the racecars at subsidised cost to make racing more affordable. He was also a wealthy industrialist and was one of the Managing Directors in Lakshmi Mills Company Ltd. Coimbatore.

He died in a plane crash in 1995. In Coimbatore, a race track is named in his honour, Kari Motor Speedway.
