Søren Nystrøm Rasted

Søren Nystrøm Rasted was born in Blovstrød, Denmark on 13 June 1969. Søren is married to former Aqua vocalist Lene Nystrøm and has two children, a girl named India and a boy named Billy. They live in Denmark.

He was a member of the Dano-Norwegian pop-dance group Aqua, best known for their hits "Barbie Girl", Doctor Jones, Turn Back Time, Cartoon Heroes and Around the World. Soren and his band member Claus Norreen wrote and produced the two Aqua albums Aquarium and Aquarius. Aqua was formed in 1995. And split-up in 2001. The band sold more than 28 million records worldwide. Has a Guinnes book of record of being the only debut band ever having 3 "self penned" #1s in the UK. Soren has received more than 140 Gold and Platinum albums. Including best songwriter/ producer.

In 2002 Soren wrote and produced for different danish acts Incl. Sort Sol - Holler high and Golden Wonder. Sanne Salomonsen - Teardrops in heaven. Both #1 singles. In 2003 he wrote and produced "the number 1 best selling danish album in 2003" Jon (the winner of the Danish Popstar)Since 2005 Soren has started working with his old partner Claus Norreen and has build a studio in the north of Copenhagen (The Lobby) with Thomas Troelsen and Jan Eliasson. Soren is producing 3 different projects at the moment and the first one is coming out November 2006.

In 2004 Soren did his first "Solo" project - Lazyboy. A Spoken word album. The first single Facts of life was a big radio hit in most of Europe. The album LazyboyTV was translated in 5 languages and was released in 15 countries. "Underwear Goes Inside The Pants was the second single and made the top ten in Australia and was the most downloaded electronic track on ITunes in the US for 2 weeks. Lazyboy was released in the UK in 2006 but had to change the name to LazyB because of a lawsuit from the chair company. Soren also directed and edited all the videoes for the LazyboyTV album, and was also nominated for a Danish Grammy.
