Ryuzoji Iekane (1454-1546) a retainer of the Japanese clan of Shoni during the Sengoku Period of the 16th century. Iekane was the fifth son of Ryuzoji Yasuie and succeeded to the head of his family by dint of outliving his elder brothers. Following the year of 1506 Iekane defeated the Ōuchi but ended up loseing himself against Shoni Masauke (in which the latter was killed) and again at the Battle of Chikugogawa in 1530. Iekane gradually left the Shoni and grew more powerful in Hizen province although he supposedly was long retired as a retainer. Following the year of 1544 another retainer under the Shoni, Baba Yorichikaconcerned by Iekane's power, sprung a trap on him. Even though Iekane lost many of his family members during this attack, he managed to flee to the Chikugo Province to take with [[Kamachi Akimori, lord of Yanagawa Castle. Even though at this time Iekane was very old at the age of 90, he managed to lead an army from Hizen and kill Yorichika. He followed in death on the 10th of April 1546.
