Ryo Chonan is a Japanese mixed martial arts fighter, who currently fights for PRIDE's Bushido promotion.
Before coming to Pride Bushido, Chonan fought in the DEEP MMA tournament in Japan. One of his most memorable fights was against Anderson Silva in "PRIDE Shockwave 2004" where Chonan executed a spectacular Flying Scissor Heel Hook. Chonan holds wins over such fighters as Carlos Newton, Daijiro Matsui, and Antonio Schembri. His win over Joey Villasenor was a very controversial split decision that many people think he lost, especially considering the broken orbital bone he suffered at the end of the match due to a vicious stomp.
