Rye House Rockets motorcycle Speedway team have been in operation since 1974. The promotion that were based in Rayleigh moved to Hoddeson after the Rayleigh Stadium was demolished for redevelopment.
The club was promoted by Len Silver who also ran the Hackney Hawks promotion at Hackney Wick Stadium.
