[edit] The Nickname Issue

--ZoomZip 19:35, 20 October 2005 (UTC) Just a quick note that when I started the article, I didn't think the "Dutch" thing is such a big deal, and I'm not "affiliated" with the Dist. Sens blog. I like the compromise that later authors have reached.

--Scott930 15:20, 15 February 2006 (UTC) Just had to delete what was basically name-calling from the section regarding the nickname. Not sure why people are getting so worked up about it. I tried to revert the discussion back to the compromise reached earlier; although until either of these nicknames starts showing up repeatedly in print or media, I'm tempted to remove that section of the article altogether to end the silly back-and-forth quips.

--ZoomZip 19:11, 16 February 2006 (UTC) Scott930: Seems like a good compromise right now. Even if you remove it, it won't stop either the anti-Dutch (pro-Zimm) forces or vice-versa from coming back in on it. Hopefully since both are there now, both sides will be happy. And nice work on extending the entry.

[edit] nickname

In my mind, it is wrong to include any reference to the "Dutch" nickname as it is not and never has been a nickname commonly used. Here you can see a blogger's attempt to create a nickname out of the blue for Zimmerman. It has not caught on as he is known around the clubhouse in the pro's as he was in college as Zimm.
