Ryan Walter

Ryan William Walter (born April 23, 1958 in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada) is a former professional ice hockey centre who played fifteen seasons in the National Hockey League.
Walter was drafted 2nd overall by the Washington Capitals in the 1978 NHL Amateur Draft. He won a Stanley Cup with the Montreal Canadiens in 1986. He finished his career with the Vancouver Canucks following the 1992-93 NHL season.
He is a former colour commentator for the Vancouver Canucks on Rogers Sportsnet and VTV (now CTV BC). Currently, he is an analyst for the Canucks' pay per view games. His son, Ben Walter, was Boston Bruins' 5th round choice (160th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft and played his first NHL game versus the Los Angeles Kings on January 12th, 2006.
